Student leadership

Student Leaders at SSHS

Students don't have to be school captains or house captains to be considered leaders. We encourage our students to be leaders in the classroom and playground, through their support for other students, or their involvement in academic, sporting, cultural or community events and projects.

All Year 10 Students undergo training in Term 4 and have the opportunity to become Peer Support leaders in Year 11.

Peer support leaders are involved in running the Peer Support and Transition programs for Year 7 students and attending Year 7 Camp as leaders.

Year 10 and 11 students also have the opportunity to apply to be school prefects at the end of Term 3. School Prefects are involved in running assemblies, assisting at school events, organising a leadership conference and are role models for the younger students.
