On Thursday the 14th September, the SRC held our annual R U OK? Day. R U OK? Day is a day to raise awareness about how to prevent anxiety, depression and suicide, by asking someone if they are okay. This hopes to spark life-changing conversations between people who may or may not know each other well, or with someone who might be able to help cheer another person up and smile for the day. This year the SRC baked and sold over 330 cupcakes to raise money for beyond blue. This is an organisation to help with further research in mental health issues, alongside helping anyone that may be struggling with anxiety or depression. The SRC would like to thank the TAS faculty, Ms Maynard, Mr Benischke and all the students who bought cupcakes. We were able to raise just over $360 to go towards this great and very helpful organisation. A special thanks to Ms Rivett for donating her giant cupcake which was won by Ms Wilson (PDHPE) in the R U OK? Day raffle.
