Year 11 Physics Excursion to Sydney Observatory
On Thursday 31st August, the year 11 Physics class, along with some other keen students, travelled to the Sydney Observatory at The Rocks for an evening tour of the facilities. The 24 dedicated students travelled after school in their own time for a syllabus driven event, including the use of the new $250,000 telescope to look at the Moon, Jupiter and Saturn.
Our party was greeted and hosted by Education Program Producer, Geoff Wyatt, who is actually a former Science teacher at South Sydney High School!
The students were engaged, had a lot of eager questions to ask during the excursion and represented our school with enthusiasm and excellent behaviour.
